Books

I have two book I want to recommend reading the first is "The Shack" by William P. Young

It is a real tear jerker but so worth reading. Here is a link to the website http://www.theshackbook.com/

And the other book I want to tell you about is "A Cedar Cove Christmas" by Debbie Macomber
Here is a link to her website www.debbiemacomber.com

This book is a fun read, has a feel good ending.
You'll want to snuggle up with a warm blanket, cup of cocoa and this good book.

"Financially Confident Woman" by Mary Hunt

Financial Bondage is the result of being preoccupied with money~either from a lack or a abundance.

Lord, I am not asking to win the lottery

and I'm not seeking proverty either.

Just give me enough so that I am not

constantly worring about finances

but not so much that I forget to always rely on You

Amen

Security is not measured by the things you have, but rather the things you can do without

No matter how much you hear and read, no one has a clue what the stock market is going to do.

Frugality simply means striving to get the best value you can for each dollar

you spend and fully enjoying the things you have or make use of

No matter what your particular calling in life~

mother, career woman, wife, or grandmother

you're a woman both wonderful and unique

Every woman~regardless of her marital status, age, strengths, or weaknesses~

needs to know how to manage money confidently and effectively.

No matter what your present situation, there's always a way out.

All of the above are from "The Financially Confident Woman" by Mary Hunt

Bookmarks

These are the bookmarks I made for my book club Christmas exchange. They were really easy to make. I just used poster board, rub-on decals, and some of my favorite quotes or verse. I laminated them to make them more durable. I used twine with a couple of beads on the end to dress them up.

Now for my unemployed state! I am keeping with my schedule, getting up like I am still working. I log onto the computer looking at want ads, searching career website. I have discovered there is very few jobs listed. I really fear for our economy and the state of our country. I know there is a lot of people out there like me, looking for work. I am trying to remain positive! Dear God be with me!

Economic turndown

Well the economic turn down has sure effected the business I work for. Or I should say worked for. I was laid off on Friday. Even thought I knew this was real possibly, it sure hurt. I had never been laid off or even fired so this was a first for me. Since I am single I have no income coming in, this is really going to hurt.
On Friday I also had my ladies book club from church. I sure needed the comfort from them more than ever before. They all gave me a hug and told me to keep faith and believe God is there with me always.
We had a great time. It was our Christmas party since we are taking next month off. We had read "Skipping Christmas" so we watched the movie "Christmas with the Kranks". We had a book mark exchange. My book mark was a metal marker that says "Faith", the perfect one for me!
