My Trip to Tombstone AZ

I was born and raised in Arizona but had never been to Tombstone. It has been on mine and my sister's bucket list for a while now. So finally last week my sister Cindey her husband Dick, my son Jeremy and myself when to Tombstone. We really had fun but wish we had more time to explore this interesting town. We started at Boothill Graveyard.

These graves are the most famous ones because they were the men who died from the shootout at OK Corral. (Which really wasn't at OK Corral but was real close)

Next stop was the Bird Cage. Which is why Jeremy wanted to come. See my son is a big fan of Ghost Hunters. They filmed a episode here.

The stage inside the Bird Cage. It was a lot smaller than I thought it would be. You can see the uper box seats to the left and right above.

One of the rooms on the bottom floor where the "Ladies" stayed.

Big Nose Kate's Saloon. We had lunch here. It was very good.

The stage inside of Big Nose Kate's. It was small too.

Doc Holiday walking the streets of Tombstone.

This is the site of the famous gunfight at OK Corral. It was behind the actual corral area, in an alley.

Liquid Diet~

I am so crazy about these two drinks. I could have one for lunch and then one for dinner. And I would be so happy! I have never felt this way about a drink before. I wonder what they put into them that keeps me coming back? lol
Anyone else have something you crave?

Nicky's Halloween Pumpkin

I had Nicky for a while yesterday. I sure have missed this boy. He told his mama the other day she needs to go back to work so he can spend time with Grandma! Made me smile even though I know he's a big mama's boy.
I got little pumpkins the other day so the kids could decorate them. Here is Nicky's he did yesterday. He is just so cute I love this little guy and his pumpkin too!

Enjoying my time with Allyssa

Allyssa was off this week for her fall break I am so happy I got to spend 3 days with her. I really enjoyed spending time with her. I know she is almost at the age when it is not cool to hang out with grandma. So I am enjoying every precious moment with her. I took this pictures of her at the Buckeye Park here in town. She is so beautiful! She doesn't think she is but I know she is.

Randomness

I can't believe it is almost been a month since I was on here. Really nothing to report except I had a blood vessel in my eye pop. Since those pictures look so bad I wont post them. So just a few random photos of Nicky. I hope everyone here in blog land is doing ok. I'm sure the few who did follow me have left since it's been so long. I will try to blog more after I get home from visiting with my parents. My dad is once again not doing so good. But he has bounced back lots of times, so I am hoping he will once again.

Oh this is my playboy blanket not his lol

Game Crazy

I have taught Nicky how to play games on the computer. Boy is he a fast leaner. I think I have created a game monster. That's all he wants to do anymore. And it's causing him to some times to forget the potty breaks. I wish now I had waited a little while. But that's too late now.

I don't know about the rest of you but my family has sure been going through a lot of stress and tribulation the last couple of weeks. I am just praying that all things work out for the good. I'm asking for God's wisdom and guidance in our lives.

Family

It's been a hard week. We have lost two of my Dad's siblings with in the last week.

My Dad's older brother Alvin on July 11th and then his sister Ruth on July 18th. The strange thing is both Alvin and Ruth were born on March 14th eleven years apart. Please say a prayer for their families and also my  Dad. It's just him and his younger sister Irene left out of the 9 kids.

Visiting

I was able to visit with my Dad and Mom over the 4th. I was there for 4 days. I enjoyed every minute of my time with them. I am so mad at myself for not getting their picture together, I swear sometimes my mind just slips away. Here are my beautiful parents in separate pictures. My sister Cindey had to have an emergency surgery because of a ruptured appendix on Wednesday, she is home and healing now.

I got sad news today that my Dad's older brother Elvin had passed away. I never had the pleasure of meeting him which made me cry because now I never will. My Dad's sister Ruth is only expected to have a few months left, I haven't seen her since I was 4. All the family that is left now is my Dad (Joseph) Aunt Ruth and my Aunt Irene. Whom I have not seen for a while. I wish I had the financial means to travel to see them all.

My Dad and Farrah Fawcett

You are asking yourself what does my Dad and Farrah Fawcett have in common. Nothing at all. So more about Farrah in a minute. This is the picture my sister texted me of my Dad on Father's Day. He looks so amazing since I saw him last October.

I talked to Dad last night and again this morning. He telling me he's so tired and doesn't know how much longer he will be here, He says he can't wait to get to Heaven because he will have his perfect body. I want to tell him please Daddy hold on a little longer I will be coming to visit next month. But I don't say this because I know I will start crying. Like I am crying now. So I change the subject to my sister, because today is her birthday. I am Daddy's little girl. I would miss him. I know he's tired he has to go 3 days a week to dialysis but I want him around longer.

So enough about this crying stuff

So on to Farrah. I just finish reading Ryan O'Neal book on Farrah. I really enjoyed reading about their love affair that lasted many years. They were the "golden couple" both so beautiful. I was a teenager in the 70's and I so wanted to have her hair. I think everyone has their one true love and I thinks she was his and he was her's. I read Ryan's book first then I read Farrah's close friend Alana Stewart's.

I absolutely loved Alana's book. This is a true friendship, the greatest love you can give to a friend. She basically put her life on hold to be with Farrah. I know I said no more crying stuff but this book did make me cry.
I highly recommend Alana's book it is so worth reading. I want to be this kind of friend.

Joshua's 8th Grade Graduation

My Grandson Joshua graduated last week from 8th. I can't believe he is going into high school next year.

Him and his group of friends

He is so handsome and I am very proud of him
Dad (my son aka Josh Sr) in red stripe & Allyssa (sister), Nicky (brother) and the 2 great grandma's
Above photo Grandma (me) and his 2 great grandmother's (my mom in white Grandma Shaw in Blk & white) and also little Nicky who wanted in all photos. Do all divorced couples do this Dad's side of family and Mom's side of family?
Joshua's Mom Christina in blue dress and also cousins and aunt.
I am just glad we all get along.
.

These are the cupcake I made him. Very time-consuming but the kids loved them.

Excessive Heat

I can't believe it we are in the middle of April and we are already breaking heat records! I think as I've gotten older the heat had really effected me more. Its seems crazy but my rheumatoid arthritis always fares up more in the heat. You think it would be just the opposite, but no. At about 4pm yesterday my back porch was still 104 degrees. I am just trying to stay cool and out of the sunshine. Hoping the next 6 months go by fast.

In Memory of the RMS Titanic

On the night of April 14, 1912 the RMS Titanic was on its maiden voyage from Southampton England to New York City

It was a beautiful ship inside and out. It had many luxuries.

It hoped to make it to New York faster then any previous ships. But its fate was already sealed when it struck an iceberg which ripped open the side of the ship. It had boasted that it was unsinkable. The tragedy claimed more than 1500 of the 2228 passengers and crew on board. There was not enough life boats for all on-board. Many of the life boats were launched only partly filled that night.

Titanic struck the iceberg about 11:40 pm on April 14th and sank just a few hours later at 2:20 am on April 15th. People were shocked to hear of the sinking because it was thought to be unsinkable.

John Astor and his wife where one of the wealthiest people on board. This above picture is of John Astor's funeral. Madeleine Astor & unborn son survived the tragedy.

The wreckage of the Titanic was not discovered until 1985.

Since then many artifacts from Titanic have been recovered from the sea bed.

Millvina Dean was only 9 weeks old when she survived. She was the youngest on board. Millvina passed away at the age of 97 in 2009.

Death has now claimed all of Titanic's passengers.

The Titanic tragedy has inspired many books, films, plays and artwork. I believe as the years so by it will inspire many more.
