The yada yada Prayer Group by Neta Jackson

I really liked this book that was recommended to me by Susan at http://bigsticksblog.blogspot.com/
I could relate to the main character, Jody Baxter. Which I'm not sure that's good, but I feel I was able to learn something from reading this book. And that in itself is huge!

Synopsis
What do an ex-con, a former drug addict, a real estate broker, a college student, and a married mother of two have in common?
Nothing, or so I thought. Who would have imagined that God would make a group as mismatched as ours the closest of friends?
I almost didn't even go to the Chicago Women's Conference--after all, being thrown together with five hundred strangers wasn't exactly my "comfort zone." And being placed in a prayer group of twelve women from such diverse backgrounds seemed completely awkward.
But something happened that weekend to make us realize we had to hang together. The "Yada Yada Prayer Group" was born, and we decided to meet regularly to pray for each other: knocking off each other's rough edges and learning to laugh and cry along the way! And when I faced the biggest crisis of my life, God used my newfound girlfriends to help teach me--Jodi Baxter, longtime Christian "good girl"--what it means to be just a sinner saved by grace.

Christmas & Crafts

I put the little tree up for Christmas this year. But something is still missing? I just can't figure out what it is? Maybe it is my Christmas spirit. I just can't seem to get with it this year. It is probably the depression of being laid off at Christmas time. I'm going to keep trying to get in the spirit. Now where did I put my Christmas CD's This is the very first Nativity scene I bought when I was first married. Well it has lasted a lot longer then the marriage. lol

Here is a few of the items I am working on for gifts this year! A few of jewelry boxes

And this birdhouse

I have a lot more to do so I better get busy! I still haven't done any baking! Oh my!

Favorite Photo Hunt

My favorite is Newport Beach California. I would love to be there any time, any day. I spent lots of weekend at Newport with my late boyfriend, so it has a very special place in my heart!

The second is my Mom & Dad's yard in the summer time! It is so peaceful there! But only in the summer, since they live in Farmington NM. It is to cold in the winter for this Arizona Girl~

My First Christmas in Heaven Poem

My First Christmas in Heaven
I see the countless Christmas trees around the world below
With tiny lights, like Heaven's stars reflecting on the snow
The sight is so spectacular please wipe away the tear
For I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I hear the many Christmas songs that people hold so dear
But the sounds of music can't compare with the Christmas choir up here
I have no words to tell you, the joy their voices bring,
For it is beyond description, to hear the angels sing.

I know how much you miss me, I see the pain inside your heart
But I am not so far away. We really aren't apart.
So be happy for me, dear ones, You know I hold you dear.
And be glad I'm spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

I sent you each a special gift, from my heavenly home above.
I sent you each a memory of my undying love
After all, love is a gift more precious than pure gold.
It was always most important in the stories Jesus told.

Please love and keep each other as my Father said to do.
For I can't count the blessings or love he has for each of you.
So have a Merry Christmas and wipe away that tear.
Remember, I am spending Christmas with Jesus Christ this year.

This poem was written by a 13 year old boy who died of a brain tumor that he had battled four years. He died on December 12, 1997. He gave this poem to his mom before he died. His name was Ben.--special thanks to Mary Jo Bireley and Family for providing this poem.

This is a beautiful Poem I came across, that I thought was worth sharing.

Ladies Christmas Dinner

Our Church had the Woman Christmas dinner last Saturday night

We started with a few fun and games!

Connie has a beautiful back yard

The rose garden in the corner is dedicated to her mother!

She even had her doggy dressed as Mrs. Claus

We had some hot cocoa and apple cider

Some of the husband craved the turkey and they even did the dishes afterwards!

We had a good time visiting and sharing our Christmas traditions! We always have fun when the ladies get together, it doesn't matter what we do! It's just fun to hang with the girls!

Looking for a good book?

I want to recommend reading "Miss Julia Speaks her Mind". This book has charm, rumor and mystery all in one. I didn't want to put it down after I started reading it! This is the first one in the Miss Julia series. So I definitely want to read the others.

I've been tagged

Joyce at A cup of Joe http://moderatesuburbanchick.blogspot.com/ tagged me so I have to name 6 things about myself.

1) I have Rheumatoid Arthritis. I've had it since I was 21 years old. My first signs of the disease were waking up with stiffness in my hands. To date it has affected my hands, elbows, shoulders, neck, knees, and my feet.
I've taken everything from plain aspirin to infusions drugs. I am currently taking an infusion called Rituxan and it seems to be helping.
Living with RA is understanding the balance you need in your life. The right combination of exercise and rest. It you move to little, you will lose the ability and range of motion in some of your joints. Which I have done and regret now. If you over do it, you will definitely feel in tomorrow.
Everyone has their problems in this life they must live with. I choose to live life and find happiness. I believe having a positive outlook is essential to living with RA or any disease; you can't go around thinking poor me.

2) I was still a teenager when I had both of my sons. Just barely 18 when I had Josh and 19 almost 20 when I had Jeremy.

3) My birthday is on April fools day! I've heard it all.

4) I have two different color eyes, One green and the other blue/green.

5) I love Newport Beach California. It has a special place in my heart! My late boyfriend and I spent a lot of time there in late '99. We spread some of his ashes there after he passed away.

6) I love to read, I don't go anywhere with out a book. You never know when your car may break down, and you'll have a book to read. So you will not be bored waiting on the tow truck!
