Books of 2009 in review

I started the year with "New Moon" by Stephenie Meyer, even though I liked this book it was my least favorite of the Twilight saga! The last book of the year was "The Choice" by Nicholas Sparks. I liked this book and even shed a few tears like I always do reading Nicholas Sparks books. I ended the year by reading 89 books. A little short of my goal of 100. But this is the closest I have came to 100.

A few of my favorites from the year are:

"The Hiding Place" by Corrie ten Bloom. It is a story of her and her family risking their lives to help Jews during the World War II from Nazi concentration camps.

"Leota's Garden" by Francine Rivers. It is about a family torn apart by misunderstanding and their journey of healing.

"True Colors" by Kristin Hannah. A story about three sisters who ban together after their mother's death.

"The Wednesday Letters" by Jason F. Wright. After the death of their parents three siblings find letters written by the dad to their mother over the years.

"My Hand Came Away Red" by Lisa McKay. A group of Christian teens go to Indonesia to help build a church for the local Christians. Muslin and Christian tensions flair during their stay and the journey the teens must take to survive.

I am looking forward to 2010 and all the good books I will read this year!

Wow!! 89 books! I thought I read a lot, but you have me beat. You're pretty close to 100 books... Happy New Year! Are you going to try for 100 books again this year?

So great you read 89 books that is a lot my friend for one year. You have inspired me to keep count of my reading list this year. Maybe I could side bar it that way I would know where the list is. lol
I am going to write your list down and visit the library

Leota's Garden is a fav of mine as well. I have read quite a few of Rivers works and love them all.
These cold wintery days are great for snuggling up with a good book.
Enjoy ;-)
