Rheumatoid Arthritis~

Most people when they think of arthritis, they think its a few aches and pains. I can tell you from first hand experience that is not the case. From the onset of getting Rheumatoid Arthritis, it was and is very painful. I have been living with RA for almost thirty years now. When I first got it I had a newborn at the time and just putting on his socks made me cry.
To better understand Rheumatoid arthritis, you need to know it is an autoimmune disease where a person's immune system attacks his or her own body tissues. It can be very disabling and cause deformities.
My first signs of the disease were waking up with stiffness in my hands. To date it has affected my hands, elbows, shoulders, neck, knees, and my feet. The above picture is the effect it has had on my hands.
I've taken everything from plain aspirin to infusions drugs. Living with RA is understanding the balance you need in your life. The right combination of exercise and rest. It you move to little, you will lose the ability and range of motion in some of your joints. Which I have done and regret now. If you over do it, you will definitely feel it tomorrow. Moving around now has been really painful, since my knee needs replaced. Not sure when I will be able to get it done. Since I am dealing with insurance coverage and all that fun stuff.
Everyone has their problems in this life they must live with. I choose to live life and find happiness. I believe having a positive outlook is essential to living with RA or any disease; you can't go around thinking poor me. So I get up everyday thinking this is another beautiful day God has given me.

I really liked "Rainwater" by Sandra Brown. It is very different from her other books. The story takes place in the 1930's. Lead character is Ella Barron a young mother of a disabled child. She is running a boarding house during times of great depression and racism. And into her life comes a new boarder Mr. Rainwater.

I finished reading Liz Curtis Higgs first book she wrote "Mixed Signals" It was wrote in 1999. I really liked it. Higgs is my favorite Christian writer. She is better know for her books on "Bad Girls of the Bible." It is very different than the books she writes now.
"Mixed Signals" is an inspirational romantic comedy about Belle a radio jockey!. It is very funny and entertaining.

~Bully & Sweetheart~

Bully & Sweetheart are my grand kids cats. My son informed me they are going to be moving out to their own place in June but they are not taking the cats. So I guess they are going to be mine now!

These two kitties are a little on the wild side! Their mom was a wild cat who deserted them. We bottle fed Bully from 2 weeks on. Sweetheart was with the mom until she was about 6 weeks. Not sure why she didn't want them!

I had two cats of my own for a long time. My female cat was named Calio and she lived to be almost 19 years old. My male cat was Stuart and he lived to be 14 years old. After they died I told myself I wouldn't get any more cats. My grand daughter would cry if we had to find new homes for their cats. I am not sure what to do!

My grandson Joshua is off to Astrocamp in the San Jacinto Mountains. This is his first time to leave the state without his mom or dad. The camp is located in Idyllwild, CA. I pray for a safe fun trip for him.

I love you Joshua!
UPDATE: He had a great time and is now home safe.
