Visiting

I was able to visit with my Dad and Mom over the 4th. I was there for 4 days. I enjoyed every minute of my time with them. I am so mad at myself for not getting their picture together, I swear sometimes my mind just slips away. Here are my beautiful parents in separate pictures. My sister Cindey had to have an emergency surgery because of a ruptured appendix on Wednesday, she is home and healing now.

I got sad news today that my Dad's older brother Elvin had passed away. I never had the pleasure of meeting him which made me cry because now I never will. My Dad's sister Ruth is only expected to have a few months left, I haven't seen her since I was 4. All the family that is left now is my Dad (Joseph) Aunt Ruth and my Aunt Irene. Whom I have not seen for a while. I wish I had the financial means to travel to see them all.

Ah honey your pic's are lovely. I am so very happy you spent this much needed time with them because I can tell through your writing that you adored every minute you were there.
These pic's of them are too cute. I too wish you had gotten one of them together but that's okay these two are adorable.
Sorry about the loss of your Uncle.
It's sad but I too only have one Uncle and Aunt left in my family. Only reminds me of how old I am getting. lol
Hope Cindy is recovering well from her surgery and that you are doing good.
I have to tell you my week has been horrid with the landlady here and she left this morning and coming back Monday evening. She only left because I am going to Austin to see my babies.
Pray for me next week because I am afraid if she stays another whole week with me that Ms Pearl will make an appearance for sure
Love ya
Maggie

Nice pics. It's so sad when kin passes away. I know what you mean about never meeting your dad's siblings. I never met all my mom's siblings before they passed. I didn't grow up around them, plus, my mom has a huge family - 12 kids, and there's a huge age gap between her and the older siblings. We never made it to Michigan to meet all of her family, but, I believe I've met all of my dad's siblings, even though I may have only seen them a few times in my life.

I know what you mean. I have family in Italy that I've never met. My father passed away four years ago..and only one remaining sibling of six kids is left. My Aunt is in her 80's.
