I got these magazine covers for my grand kids at Walgreen's. Joshua wanted football
Allyssa wanted a teen magazine
I choose baseball for Nicholas because he had the outfit and baseball blanket. So now they are famous!
Today is my sister Gloria's birthday. Above is a picture of me and my sisters taken in 1964. Gloria on the left, me in the center and Cindey on the right.
Here is a picture taken in Oct 2008, at our family reunion. Gloria on the left, Cindey center and me on the right. I miss seeing my sisters daily, they live in New Mexico and I'm in Arizona. I wish we could get together more often.
I just finished reading "What I Did for Love" by Susan Elizabeth Phillips. I liked this book but I was a little disappointed in the ending! I had to read the ending twice just to make sure I was reading it correctly. I'm not going to give anything away just in case you want to read it for yourself. It still is a entertaining story and I believe it is worth reading. I just didn't like it as much as some of her past books.
We went to the Coyotes game Thursday night. Coyotes didn't win but it still was a great game. But I am still bummed about them trading my favorite player Daniel Carcillo
I want to show off my pig collection. As collections go it is not very big but each piece has a special memory to me.
These two were made for me by my Mother. Many years ago she was in a ceramics class and she made them.
And then to this dear little set of Mother with her baby piggies. This set was once my Mothers. As a child I loved these cuties. So a few years back, my Mother gave them to me. And someday I hope to pass them on to my granddaughter since I don't have a daughter to give them too and I don't think my boys would want them.
I received my AAA magazine "Highroads"
They have an article about first cars. This month it featured Joe Garagiola Sr. His first car was a Nash. It had a very special meaning to him because the people from his neighborhood were so proud that "one of their own" had made it to the big leagues that they secretly collected the money and surprised him with the car.
It made me think of my very first car. The year was 1976 and the car was a 1966 Chevy Impala. My mother has gotten a new car so I got her old one. The interior was falling apart and the paint was faded. I could fill the tank up for under $10 dollars and it would last me for two weeks. I ended up selling it for $200 dollars in 1979. Years later my sons wished that I had kept it so they could fix it up. As first cars go it was a pretty decent car, but at the time I didn't appreciate it. All I wanted was something newer that wasn't owned by my parents first. The next car I got was a real lemon. I was sorry I had gotten rid of the Chevy, at least it ran good.
I just finished reading "Whispers of the Bayou" for my book club. I liked this book because it is a mystery! Family secrets, murder, & suspense, this book has it all. My favorite quote from the book is on page 334 when Miranda says "I couldn't believe that this life--this fulfilled peaceful, forgiven life--had been available to me all along, and all I had to do to receive it was to ask."
I have a prayer request to ask of anyone who reads my blog. Please pray for my best friend Theresa who found out yesterday that she has traces of lymphoma from her biopsy. There are pictures of us in my Hockey blogs. I have been friends with her since High School. My heart goes out to her, this is the second time having cancer. So please say a prayer for her.

I am so bummed the Phoenix Coyotes have traded my two favorite player, # 13 Daniel Carcillo & # 12 Olli Jokinen. The games will not be the same without these two players. I am going to have to find a new favorite. Trading is what I like least about watching sports. I know it is a fact and it has to be, but I don't like it. It seems just when you start liking a player they trade them.
